Beach opening in Japan marks the official start of summer and swimming season at designated beaches.
And Suma Beach is now open from July 11th (Thursday), 2024 to August 25th (Sunday), 2024.

Awarded the Blue Flag for six consecutive years, Suma Beach is dedicated to being a clean, safe, and inclusive beach for everyone to enjoy.

*The Blue Flag is an international certification system for beaches and marinas that is implemented by the international NGO FEE (Foundation for International Environmental Education) to assess water quality, environmental education, safety, and other aspects of beaches and marinas.

“Smile Beach Area” has been set up in front of JR Suma Station and Kaihin-Park, where families with children and young people can enjoy the sea safely.

*Alcohol-free and has a jellyfish net to protect swimmers.
*Lifeguards and security guards are also on duty.

This area will also host children’s events such as “Sand sculpture making experience” and “Beach clean-up festival”.
